Teleios: Jurnal Teologi dan Pendidikan Agama Kristen is a peer-reviewed journal published by Sekolah Tinggi Teologi Transformasi, Indonesia. The journal is committed to maintaining high standards of academic integrity and publication ethics. This policy is based on the Core Practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and applies to authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher.

1. Allegations of Misconduct

Teleios takes allegations of research and publication misconduct seriously. Misconduct includes, but is not limited to, plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, inappropriate citation practices, authorship misconduct, manipulation of the peer-review process, and undisclosed conflicts of interest.

All allegations will be assessed confidentially and fairly. When necessary, the journal may request explanations or supporting evidence from the authors or relevant institutions. If misconduct is confirmed, Teleios will take appropriate action, which may include rejection of the manuscript, correction, retraction, or other editorial measures.

2. Authorship and Contributorship

Authorship should reflect substantial contributions to the conception, research, analysis, interpretation, or preparation of the manuscript.

All authors must have made a meaningful contribution, approved the final version, agreed to its submission, and accepted responsibility for the integrity of the work.

Individuals who have contributed to the work but do not qualify for authorship should be appropriately acknowledged.

Any change in authorship after submission must be justified and approved by all affected authors and the Editor-in-Chief. Ghost, guest, and honorary authorship are not permitted.

3. Complaints and Appeals

Teleios provides a mechanism for authors and other relevant parties to submit complaints or appeals concerning editorial decisions or publication procedures.

Complaints and appeals must be supported by clear and substantive reasons. They will be handled objectively, confidentially, and without prejudice.

The Editor-in-Chief will review the matter and may consult the Editorial Board or independent experts when necessary. The journal will make reasonable efforts to resolve complaints and appeals fairly and transparently.

4. Conflicts of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial, personal, institutional, professional, or other interests that could influence the research or publication process.

Reviewers must disclose potential conflicts of interest before accepting a manuscript and should decline the review when such a conflict could compromise their objectivity.

Editors must not handle manuscripts when they have a conflict of interest with the authors, research, or institution involved.

All disclosed conflicts will be managed appropriately to maintain the fairness and integrity of the publication process.

5. Data and Reproducibility

Authors are responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the data, evidence, sources, and research procedures presented in their manuscripts.

Authors should retain relevant research materials and supporting data and, where ethically and legally possible, make them available for verification or further scholarly research.

For qualitative, theological, educational, or other research involving confidential information, data may not be publicly available when doing so could compromise participant privacy, confidentiality, or other ethical obligations. In such cases, authors should clearly explain the relevant limitations.

Fabrication, falsification, manipulation, or deliberate misrepresentation of research data or evidence is unacceptable.

6. Ethical Oversight

Research involving human participants must comply with applicable ethical principles and institutional requirements.

Where applicable, authors must obtain informed consent and appropriate ethical approval before conducting research. Particular attention must be given to research involving vulnerable participants, minors, sensitive personal information, interviews, or identifiable personal narratives.

Authors must protect participants' privacy and confidentiality and must not publish identifiable information without appropriate consent.

7. Intellectual Property

Authors must respect copyright and other intellectual-property rights. All quotations, ideas, data, images, tables, and other materials derived from other sources must be properly acknowledged and cited.

Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted material where such permission is required.

Teleios respects the intellectual-property rights of authors and third parties and applies its stated copyright and licensing policies consistently.

8. Journal Management

Teleios is committed to transparent, professional, and independent journal management.

Editorial decisions are based on the academic quality, originality, relevance, methodological rigor, and scholarly contribution of manuscripts and are not influenced by commercial, personal, institutional, or political interests.

The publisher, Sekolah Tinggi Teologi Transformasi, supports the journal's editorial activities while respecting editorial independence.

The journal maintains appropriate records of submissions, peer review, editorial decisions, and publication activities and protects the confidentiality of unpublished manuscripts.

9. Peer Review Process

Teleios uses a double-blind peer-review process. The identities of authors and reviewers are concealed from one another during the review process.

Manuscripts are initially assessed by the editors for relevance to the journal's scope, academic quality, originality, and compliance with submission requirements. Suitable manuscripts are then evaluated by qualified reviewers with relevant expertise.

Reviewers must:

  • evaluate manuscripts objectively and constructively;

  • maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts;

  • disclose conflicts of interest;

  • avoid using unpublished information for personal or professional advantage;

  • identify significant relevant publications that have not been cited where appropriate; and

  • provide respectful and evidence-based comments.

The final editorial decision is the responsibility of the editor and is based on the manuscript's scholarly quality and the overall editorial assessment.

10. Post-Publication Discussions and Corrections

Teleios recognizes that scholarly evaluation may continue after publication. Readers and researchers may raise substantive concerns regarding published articles by contacting the editorial office.

When errors or ethical concerns are identified, the journal may publish a correction, clarification, expression of concern, or retraction, depending on the nature and seriousness of the issue.

Corrections will be made when an error affects the accuracy or clarity of a published article without invalidating its main findings. Retraction may be considered when published findings are demonstrably unreliable or when serious publication misconduct or ethical violations have occurred.

Teleios is committed to maintaining an accurate, transparent, and reliable scholarly record and will take appropriate action in accordance with recognized publication-ethics principles.

Reference to Publication Ethics

Teleios follows the publication-ethics principles established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and refers to relevant COPE guidelines and flowcharts when addressing ethical issues and cases of research or publication misconduct.
