Tinjauan Teologis terhadap Mazmur Kutukan

Abstract

Abstract: Pour out your wrath, let destruction come upon him, and let him perish. Phrases like these can be found in the book of Psalms. Psalms like these are classified as curse Psalms by interpreters. The existence of such Psalms in the Bible evokes various reactions from interpreters, especially since the words in these Psalms are very harsh. Some argue that Christians should not pray psalms like these in this day and age. The author therefore researched this topic, using the expositional method and also collaborated with several other writings related to this topic. Based on the results of the research, the author found that Psalms of curses are still relevant for Christians today. This statement is supported by a theological analysis of the curse psalms based on the covenant and the purpose of the psalms themselves. As a result, since the psalmists were praying in reaction to God's covenant with His people, it is not wrong for them to ask God to fulfill the promise. Praying for justice is not wrong, in fact, Christians should do so.

Abstrak: Tumpahkanlah murka-Mu, biarlah kebinasaan menimpanya, dan biarlah dia binasa. Frasa seperti itu dapat ditemukan dalam kitab Mazmur. Mazmur seperti ini diklasifikasikan sebagai Mazmur kutukan oleh para penafsir. Keberadaan Mazmur-mazmur seperti ini di dalam Alkitab menimbulkan berbagai reaksi dari para penafsir, terutama karena kata-kata dalam Mazmur-mazmur ini sangat keras. Ada yang berpendapat bahwa orang Kristen tidak boleh mendoakan mazmur seperti ini pada zaman sekarang ini. Oleh sebab itu penulis meneliti topik ini, dengan menggunakan metode ekposisi dan juga penulis berkolaborasi dengan beberapa tulisan lain yang berkaitan dengan topik ini. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, penulis menemukan bahwa Mazmur kutukan masih relevan bagi orang Kristen pada masa kini. Pernyataan ini didukung oleh analisis teologis tentang mazmur-mazmur kutukan berdasarkan perjanjian dan tujuan mazmur itu sendiri. Sebagai hasilnya, karena para pemazmur berdoa sebagai reaksi atas perjanjian Allah dengan umat-Nya, maka tidak salah jika mereka meminta Allah untuk menggenapi janji tersebut. Berdoa untuk keadilan tidaklah salah, bahkan, orang Kristen harus melakukannya.
